Residents say that a white lady and a blue lady ghost haunt the castle. Based on their stories, the white lady is the spirit of Margaret Pomeroy, who died starving and imprisoned in the dungeons by her jealous sister. She is known to bring fear in the dark dungeons and the castle walls. The blue lady, on the other hand, is known to lure people into the parts of the ruin. Apparently, it’s not a good idea to follow her.
Inside its empty halls and narrow streets echo the cries of the dead. The castle’s hot spots include the prison cells, the South Bridge vaults, and Mary’s King Close, a disused street used to quarantine and entomb victims of the plague. Stories say that there were ghost dogs, headless drummer, and the bodies of prisoners taken during the French and American War.
Located underneath the railway tracks, this screaming tunnel connects Niagara Falls to Toronto and New York City. Legends say that if you stand in the middle of the dark tunnel at midnight and light a match, the flame will go out and you will hear a girl screaming.
It is famous because of the five cemeteries that form a pentagram that surrounds the campus and the administrative building being in the center of the devil’s sign. It is also known for the catacombs of Jefferson Hall, where numerous ghost sightings have occurred. And don’t forget The Ridges, an abandoned insane asylum that was known for thousands of lobotomies and electro shock treatments.
