8 Budget-Friendly Christmas Places to Visit with the Family

Enjoy the Yuletide season with your family without spending much with these seven budget-friendly Christmas places on our list.

1. Christmas on Display (COD) in Greenhills Shopping Center
Greenhills’ 13th COD will open this coming November 14 with the theme “A Hometown Christmas”. This annual event is free admission so you can also enjoy shopping at the night market.

2. Ayala Triangle Lights and Sounds Show
Every year, The Ayala Triangle Gardens is hosting the Enchanting Lights and Sounds show. Visitors may watch the show every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

3. Giant Lantern Festival in San Fernando, Pampanga
“Ligligan Parul” as what the locals call it is a grand exhibit and contest of huge lanterns displaying dazzling lights, kaleidoscopic patterns, and interplay of colors accompanied with lively Christmas music.

4. Policarpio Street, Mandaluyong City
This 150-meter street in Mandaluyong transforms into a wonderland of lights during the Christmas season. Each year locals and even foreigners flock to this street to see the houses wrapped with millions of flickering lights.

5. Belenismo in Tarlac
The yearly Belen-making contest aims to restore the religious and social significance of the Belen as a symbol of Christmas. People from all walks of life are free to join.

6. Animal on Display in Rockwell Center
Experience winter wonderland with cool animatronics display at Power Plant Mall. Aside the poinsettias and Christmas lights, you can also see robotic reindeers, polar bears, and penguins around the mall.

7. Pyromusical Display in SM Mall of Asia
Bring your loved ones at the Seaside and witness stunning fireworks every Fridays and Saturdays from 7 P.M. onwards. But you better be early to get the best spot.

8. UP Lantern Parade in Diliman, Q.C.
The University of the Philippines Diliman Lantern parade is a yearly tradition before the school’s Christmas break. It’s a grand exhibit and contest of lanterns and floats by various colleges and organization in the University.
